Loved this ebook. The ebook opens with a girl, Alicia, shooting her husband in the face... 5 times. Theo is a psychotherapist who wants to support Alicia but she doesn't speak. It's Theo's job to support her. What happens in these pages is so great. Don't pass this one up.

What a Page Turner! I should not place this ebook down, I highly suggest this ebook. I enjoyed the plot twist and allusion to Greek tragedies. It also spoke to relationships and mental health as well as the concept that sometimes its the most obvious explanation (Occam's Razor). Nice debut novel!

An wonderful debut novel that has left me staring into the void, processing, after just finishing... After reading an excerpt, I was hooked and each page sucked me in deeper. Theo Faber is a criminal psychotherapist who has felt drawn to Alicia Berenson's topic since it began. A newest job has provided him with the opportunity to support work towards some sort of breakthrough and he plans to do just that. Alicia, silent after being found with her husband dead at her feet, has been forgotten, no longer front page news, tucked away quietly in a psychiatric facility facing closure. This ebook touches on so many hard subject, mental health, love, and betrayal. The originator did a fabulous job of building the storyline and then twisting it in a idea I never would have seen coming!? Highly suggested read and will be back for more from this originator!

I read a ton of psychological thrillers, and most fall short of the mark for me. Granted, the continued exposure does mean that it is increasingly harder and harder to "obtain" me with that needed large twist. Then, along comes this debut from Alex Michaelides. The storyline is a slow build, and in the beginning, it feels almost like two separate stories. Most of it is claimed from Theo's target of view, but we also obtain glimpses into Alicia's life through her journal entries, so there's Theo's personal life, Alicia's inner turmoil before the murder, and their interactions together. I'll admit that I was a bit confused at first about where this tale was headed, and it does take a while to obtain there. Despite that, there's just something thoroughly compelling about this storyline. Whatever that premium something is that pulls a reader into the storyline and doesn't allow go - this one has it in spades. Then we obtain to the twist and I was gobsmacked. It came out of nowhere - but it really didn't, not when I looked back at everything I'd absorbed to that target. So, I was thrown for a loop, yet it all connects and makes sense. Everything, from the how and why of the murder to that jaw-dropping reveal, it all just works. To sum it up, The Silent Patient is dark, twisted, and filled with not so likable characters that still managed to draw me in fully. Slow build or not, I kept turning those pages and completed it in one day - Well, one sleepless night because one chapter turned into two, and so on. And this debut has place this originator firmly on my radar.

This ebook had me hooked from the very beginning and I read it all in one weekend. A gripping murder runs you off and leaves you with so many questions that the ebook dives in and uncovers the answers to and so much more! If you like mystery and suspense(and some twists along the idea), this is the ebook for you!
