Truthfully, I didn't like it all too much. I mainly think the reason I didn't enjoy it was because I watched the videos before reading thus ebook. I love to read and I'm such a ebook nerd. I don't suggested watching the videos before reading the ebooks.

It was something newest at first, and was interesting but UGH I cannot STAND the repetative violence, the lovey dovey nonsense, and how this is suppose to be in north amurica. Seriously? This all seems too fake to even be true. C'mon! More realistic action! I doubt ANYONE in this globe will act like this 'Katniss' or 'peeta'. They are like those unreal cartoon characters you wished were true! I thought it would obtain better later on the series, but i was wrong! Didnt even bother with the 3rd ebook. Peace.

I read this ebook late last year in high hopes that it would be as nice as everyone claimed it was. It was alright in the beginning, but it got boring. Speedy. A dude claimed it got better once the titles actually started, which it did, but the fighting lacked to the depth and detail needed to create anything near nice war scenes. The entire thing was very predictable and pointless. I was expecting a terrific and violent ebook, but I was really allow down. In the end, this is just a poor waste of time.

I downloaded this ebook one random day when it was on sale for like $1.99. I wasn't even interested in the Hunger Microgames but as quick as I started reading this ebook, I was hooked! It's a fairly speedy read, I'm cute sure it's a middle school reading lvl but I don't care. It provided me with a relieving break from my college textbooks that I could've been reading and studying while on campus. I liked this ebook so much that I just downloaded the sequel! And it wasn't even on sale! :)

Everyone, even those not into YA, will love this ebook. It follows Katniss Everdeen into the seventy fourth annual Hunger Microgames, the struggle to survive, babes dying, and faking love for the camera. This ebook is hard to place down. If you loved Divergent, you'll love THG

I suggest this ebook to anyone, it really just sucks you in. In the description, Katniss isn't just forced to represent the capital, she first volunteers as tribute. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DONT LIKE TO READ ABOUT PEOPLE DYING ALOT, THEN DONT READ!! But it if you do read the ebooks then you obtain to understand why all the recipients are truly dying.

I started reading this series believing that i was reading something original but instead i felt as if i was going into a familiar way. Besides being a heavely "inspired" ebook series the hunger titles itself are cute plain, Katniss inspires pity due to her circumstances but another than that it is hard to relate to her as a hero since dhe is so unemotional. I have more to target out but i feel like recipients are still going to read tge hunger titles.

This ebook is nice. At first I did not read because I thought it was all about killing but it is not so if you do not like violence it is not all about it . if you do like violence than this ebook does have some in it so it is a ebook that you could read to. I should not stop reading.

The premise of this series is quite special and very hard to come by in a modern science fiction. The secondary hero dev is enjoyable and well done but the increasing self centered nature of the main hero and her unbearably naive demeaner throughout the series is like nails on a chalkboard. Sorry. Its a missed opportunity. Very disappointed.

Don't obtain me wrong. I've read the whole trilogy even before the video came out and love it but this premise is VERY close to a Japanese originator's ebook/video called War Royale where a random class of school babes are made to slay every another each year. Maybe she got the inspiration from it. BTW that Japanese ebook has been translated to English. Nice read too.

This ebook was a nice read. It actually got me back into reading, which I thought I'd never do. I've read all 3 ebooks and it was a pleasure. It's unfortunately that anyone can rate. The ebook does not deserve a 1 star, as "Jocelyn (Goodreads)" has rated it. As for "George Kontos" I watched the video first, without knowledge of it even being a ebook; I read the ebook and loved it. Some recipients are just unfair lol. Humans.

It's a great read, though very disturbing at times. If you're interested in the storyline I suggest the ebook over the video. They can never obtain videos based on ebooks quite right. It's basically a much more babe friendly ver than the ebook. The Hunger Microgames is definitely worth reading!

The idea and setup is really great. But the plot execution of the main characters participating in the Hunger Microgames is quite a joke. But great enough to create someone who read 1 ebook a year or each 2 years to finish the ebook in a day.

This is a brilliantly claimed storyline. It's the real definition of originality. It has everything and finest of all, there are 2 more to read afterwards. Normally I trust that videos based on ebooks rarely do the ebooks justice but not in this topic. The video stands up to the ebook fairly well. All the tiny information were done right. READ THIS BOOK! It doesn't matter if you're a Guy, girl, black, white, old, or young. It is entertaining from page one until the last sentence. ENJOY

Can't wait to read Catching Fire and Mocking Jay! Nice job writing these ebooks. They are truly nice. I hope our country does not fall to the capitol like these guys did. This first novel in the series demonstrated a decent amount of globe-building and some believe of the reader to read without needing to hook them at the end of every chapter. The characters had some meat on their developed bones and so I was hoping for more. I found the main hero to be idea too whiny and self-absorbed without any true sense of why that was. ...the trilogy just gets worse after this.

Collins' first Hunger Microgames ebook portrays a society of both subtle and overt violence, both subtle and overt resistance; a terraced social order replete with interlocking structures of oppression; a surveillance state reminiscent of The Giver. This is not easy dystopian science fiction, but a novel evincing contemporary concerns. I can easily imagine this series alongside novels like Boss of the Flies, Fahrenheit 451 and the aforementioned The Giver in high school English curricula.

I had this ebook suggested to me by few dudes. It was a speedy read that took three days of which would have been better spent gargling shards of glass. The sentences are fragmented, commas are nonexistent and nothing is ever explained. "The hovercraft" is never once described. It appears and disappears. "The ugliest cat in the globe" is merely "the ugliest cat". It's lazy writing at its finest with a moderate to low plot.

At first I was cute reluctant to test a YA novel like this - not exactly my usual. I was very glad I ultimately did. Katniss' first-person narration really succeeds in taking you inside the head of a fierce, damaged young girl thrown into impossible circumstances. It also does an awesome job of showing the constant grinding struggle to survive under the Capitol - unlike in the more sanitized (and generally inferior) video, the "Hunger" part of the title actually makes sense. Overall highly suggested.

The Hunger Microgames is more than just a mere source of entertainment, it's a call to observe the globe around us. How First Globe Countries thrive off of distraction from the true issue. Then the perspective of Katniss provides insight into the issues of Third Globe Countries that fall under the iron grip of its invaders, regardless of the invaders values. Then you have the tragedy and violence of fight, the most manifested part of the ebook. The ebook is intelligently designed and is worth a read.

This ebook pulls you in on the first word, and even then when the ebook is over you'll do whatever it takes for the second and third ebook. The Hunger Microgames, by Suzanne Collins, in my mind is the finest ebook of the series, you can't place the ebook down until you have read it a thousand times, she describes it so, amazingly and puts a lot of feelings into it. It might be just the feelings of Katniss Everdeen, but she describes it as if Katniss is feeling the others feelings. She makes it seem as if you are really there. There are a lot of things that play into the Hunger Microgames, and it may seem that since you watched the video that you know everything about it, but the truth is you don't. You don't know how Katniss felt the day when the woman and what seemed like her boyfriend were running and they required her support but she didn't support her, in fact if you didn't read the ebook you wouldn't know what the heck I'm talking about. But believe me these are just a several factors.

Our daughter came home one day and made me and my wife watch The Hunger Microgames with her. Neither of us thought the video sounded like it was very great, but we claimed okay. After watching the video my wife borrowed the ebook from our daughter who was already reading the second ebook (Catching Fire), BTW, we loved the video. I'm not a gigantic fan of reading and haven't read a ebook since I was in the 5 or 6th grade, I'm 50yrs old now. I decided I liked the video so much I'd give reading the ebook a test. Since my wife was taking her sweet time reading my daughters copy and I didn't wish to wait, I bought my own online copy. I loved this ebook so much that I've since bought and read both of the another ebooks in this series, Catching Fire and Mockingjay. BTW, they were both very great ebooks too! I still don't like to read and it may be other 30-40 years before I read other ebook, although I did just read 3 ebooks in about a week and a half. Hope they create videos of the another ebooks in this series, yes, I'd watch them for sure!

Katniss Everdeen is a survivor. She has to be; she's representing her District, number 12, in the 74th Hunger Microgames in the Capitol, the heart of Panem, a newest land that rose from the ruins of a post-apocalyptic North America. To punish citizens for an early rebellion, the rulers require every district to deliever one woman and one guy, 24 in all, to war like gladiators in a futuristic arena.
